Ellis Jones Consulting (A Montage Unique Pty Ltd) acknowledges that its operations have a direct or indirect impact on the natural environment. It also acknowledges that adopting environmentally sustainable practices leads to a reduction in corporate expenditure.
A cleaner environment and more funds to spend on direct service provision means that the needs of Ellis Jones staff, contractors and clients are more likely to be satisfied.
Through the implementation of the Environmental Management Policy Ellis Jones aims to:
This policy applies to all staff at Ellis Jones. It is expected that staff work collaboratively to ensure that the systems and procedures contained in this policy are implemented and continually assessed.
When it is evident that implementation of any aspect of this policy will compromise the achievement of desirable client outcome, an alternative, but favourable environmental option, should be sought.
Recycled paper to the highest percentage will be purchased on every occasion unless it is decided that the performance, colour and texture are unsatisfactory for the achievement of a desirable client outcome.
To improve on the paper savings staff should commit to the following:
Print setup screens on computers will be set to double sided printing as default
Documents will be electronically edited using tools such as the track changes in Word
Document will be distributed as attachments via email to staff and clients where practicable
Printed copies of documents will only be provided for at meetings when requested
Paper that has been used on one side should be placed in the reuse tray. When staff require note paper, as a first preference, they should attempt to use the paper in the reuse tray.
Staff are required to recycle their paper via a recycling system organised through their local council responsible for waste collection in Collingwood.
Separate bins which are appropriately labelled are to be placed around the office and are to be emptied at least one day prior to collection.
We use SmilePower from Momentum which means our energy consumption is 100% matched by renewable energy generation.
Staff should ensure that when electrical appliances, such as computers, monitors, lights, radios, etc. are not being used, they are turned off.
When purchasing electrical appliances and fittings Ellis Jones will give preference to appliances that have the highest energy efficiency rating.
Staff are encouraged to seek out opportunities to recycle any electrical appliances.
Recycled printer cartridges will be purchased on every occasion unless it is decided that the quality is unsatisfactory.
Staff have a system in place for the recycling of printer cartridges. This can be organised through Planet Ark.
Staff are encouraged to cycle to work and whenever possible use public transport and office bicycles to attend meetings.
Staff are encouraged to minimise waste production through choosing to purchase products with minimal packaging and by reusing and recycling. all materials whenever possible.
